Rgbtrade

btrade is a web-based market place for the Rainbow Trading economic system: based on ecological and social principles such as energy, recycling, fairness, transparency and responsibility. It is a tool for sustainable development. The system  is available for free download.

Features

It features the following:

  • English and Dutch languages available (new).
  • Registration of participants
  • Ad posting system: both requests and offers.
  • Groups and Categories for the ads. Category management system
  • Transfer of RGB-money to other participants
  • Transparent browsing through all participants balances and transfers
  • Message system to contact participants by email without disclosing the email address
  • Yearly reset of the balances of all participant. This Year Total Balance itself will be remembered.
  • No Admin panel. No Administrator will be in charge of the system. It should be self-maintaining

Future

This project has been stalled. If you wish to use this system, you are free to continue development. The demo has done its job: it shows that the idea is good, but requires a community. It would be favourable to have a front-end on a platform on which users already have created communities, such as ning, opensocial, etc.

Requirements

The requirements to run Rgbtrade are:

  • PHP/MySQL web hosting environment. A normal (linux-based) virtual hosting ISP service should do. (GD Module Enabled, Safe Mode irrelevant)

License

The software is available under the GPL, a Free Software License.

If you run in errors you are invited to contact me (form is below) or check out the latest development version with Subversion.

Get Better Code with Subversion

SourceForge offers us the latest code versions with the Subversion (svn) tool. The command is, if you know how it works:

svn co https://rgbtrade.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rgbtrade rgbtrade

It is updated on a day-to-day basis, and once you have it going, updates with a single command. It won’t overwirte your current configuration files.
